about

pirogiChop has gone mobile! & is no longer stuck only working in the dank damp basement. This was a work in progress. New tracks appeared when I finished them. all tracks created in Albuquerque, NM

"are you ready?" was created while sitting in the sun, drinking beers & occasionally playing with Kino (she is my album cover model) in Albuquerque NM on Sunday afternoon April 23rd. The intro & outro samples are me & Scott Ballard (Gunner & Knoose) recorded in October 2022 and March 2023 in Savannah GA & Tybee Island, GA

"ow" was created over the course of a few days. I recorded hitting sticks together for one part of it while I was also playing with Kino. I accidentally cut my hand on a stick. I pieced all the parts together Thursday afternoon April 27th.

"so con fu s e d" was recorded & created over a few days. I sometimes didn't quite understand what was happening. Luckily I saved everything and mixed it up and than chopped it up , than mixed it again. Repeatedly. Finally putting it all together as it was meant be the morning of April 29th

"two hand star" was created in a dancy mood Saturday morning/afternoon April 29th. I seem to have fallen back into the habit of creating short tracks much like I did 20 years ago.

"three range power" To get tracks to go beyond just a minute or two, early on when I started doing pirogiChop I decided that sometime I had to go for the pop perfection of 3 minutes & 33 seconds. I did that on April 30th for this album. I recorded some stuff, made some beats & noise and than added some dialogue from a Power Ranger episode. Fading, effecting, choppin' & arranging everything to pirogiChop brand of imperfection /perfection
.
"fi ne ti me" was started on April 30th & finished on May first. Again I decided to make it a 3:33. I wanted a mellow yet upbeat end for this project.

about

pirogiChop Portland, Oregon

As a kid I use to record random noises and stuff on to a cassette. I called it the noisy show.this is a sort of continuation of that. Although over the years with more free technology available pirogiChop has evolved into creating more original material and only using some samples from random sources ... more
